Pistol on a Budget: Update

On my previous entry about a home defense and firing range pistol on a budget, I mentioned 2 pistols from ARMSCOR that I would prefer to have. But reading on the Armscor Forum site, I was convinced by one of the forumers to consider buying a different model.

Though I haven't yet bought the firearm, I have decided to get the Armscor 1911 MS PS in 9mm. 1911 is the model of the firearm which is a clone of the WWI and WWII classic pistol designed by John Browning. MS stands for Mid-size or Medium size, which in the US market is also called Commander size because it has a shorter barrel approximately 4.25 inches and a shorter slide compared the to Full size model. PS stands for Practical Series, because the design of the exterior parts are the same as the pistols being used for Practical Shooting. These are the Novak-style sights, ambidextrous thumb safety, beavertail grip safety and skeletonized trigger and hammer, which eliminates hammer bite that occurs with the standard hammer and grip safety that the GI model has.

Having a firearm and not using it is better than needing one and not have it.
